Lauren J. Fix

Nationally recognized automotive expert Lauren J. Fix is an authority on consumer automotive and safety issues as well as car care and repair.

Ms. Fix writes for major automotive magazines, and is the author of Driving Ambitions: A Complete Guide to Amateur Auto Racing, and The Performance Tire & Wheel Handbook.

The Yearbook of Experts, Authorities and Spokespersons has listed Lauren Fix for the last three years.

Lauren Jonas Fix was born in Detroit--and does have motor oil in her veins (her father was an engineer for each of the Big Three). She graduated from the State University of New York in Buffalo in 1985 in Business Administration.

While Lauren's racing career has been featured in several newspapers and magazines, she is also an author in her own right. Shortly after becoming president and director of Driving Ambitions, a high-perform-ance driving school, she wrote a book by the same name, in the desire to help her students and others start their own amateur racing careers.

Lauren Frequently appears as an auto expert to the media in Buffalo, NY and throughout the country. She has been a featured guest on Oprah!, NBC, CBS, ABC, NPR, ESPN, Motorweek and Empire Sport's Network's American Hot Rods; she has been interviewed on several topics, including auto safety, car care, child safety seats, auto pet safety, tires, air bags, and anti-lock brakes.

More recently, Lauren was selected by Ford Motor Co. to be a spokesperson and training consultant for the launch of the 99 F-Series Super Duty Trucks. Following that she was asked to serve as a spokesperson for the launch of the 1999 Cougar, for both news media and dealership personnel.

As a consultant for Jackson-Dawson Communications, she helped with dealer sales training for several recently introduced Ford vehicles including the Escort, Contour, Windstar, and Expedition, plus the Mercury Mountaineer.

Lauren has been selected by BMW to be the automotive expert of the Competitive Forums, and has been appointed monthly columnist for Good Housekeeping Magazine.

Lauren is Founding Member of the Mustang Museum, a member of the National Women's Automotive International, the Women's Car Care Council, and the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). Naturally, she is also a Toastmaster.
